Vonnegut, You're Kidding Me (It's Not Fair)

about

“Vonnegut, You're Kidding Me (It's Not Fair)” is the synth-based electronic lo-fi space age anthem of OTA’s experimental MIDI journey this Summer. A short-lived 3-minute track about frustration and neglect. It is a song about resentment and hypocrisy, despite its overall (sarcastically) positive, ethereal and open-ended mood.

“Vonnegut, You’re Kidding Me (It’s Not Fair)” written and produced by
Pawel Cholewa and mastered by Steve Tyssen.

Cover artwork by Jan Robbe.

lyrics

LYRICS

Outwardly, cowardly, obsequiously
Everybody’s kissing one another’s toes
So it goes, so it goes, Vonnegut, you’re kidding me!
And I’m no troll, I’m no troll, I’m no troll
And still I have some time to plod along with you
I plod along, I plot my schemes in the midst of these risqué scenes

Monopoly, monopoly, you are a monopoly!
Come on, let me in, let me in, let me in
There’s quality within what I have to say
Have to write, have to make, have to fight
And I have despised, have despised
Have had spite for all of your hypocrisy

It’s not fair (I’m so tired now)
It’s not fair (not everything’s so black and white)
It’s not fair (who would dare to say I don’t have the right)
It’s not fair (but I’m too exhausted anyway, to care)
